Hello Bucket Society Members,
Well, it’s been a busy time of year but the time of year where every day is an exciting new challenge! Since the start of 2011 the winery has been abuzz with activity and we have finished all the whites and have a few more reds from neighbouring regions to come in, so the pressure is easing. By all indications early on many thought we were in for a tricky vintage... downy mildew and fungal diseases were spreading due to the wet summer which saw some winemakers predicting the year to go pear shaped... but we made it through and it’s been a great year, the best we have had since 2005. Some old boys are saying it’s been the “best year since 65!” So
you are in for a treat with some new release wines included in your packs. I have also included a Vintage Report in this issue so head to page 2 to have a read. And... look out for Ballabourneen on "Sydney Weekender" which is due to air in May on Channel 7 at 5:30pm. I hope you enjoy your Buckets 6 packs or dozens and look forward to seeing you next time you are in the Hunter.
