Jenny Bright
Born and bred in the Hunter Valley, Jenny taught Science for 12 years at a country high school in northwest NSW before training as a winemaker at CSU Wagga and Tamburlaine, graduating “With Distinction” and dux of her year group in 1992. Working at Red Hill Estate on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula awakened an interest in pinot noir, sparkling wines and the fundamental importance of sustainable viticulture, returning to the Hunter in 1999 to join First Creek Wines.
She now operates a Viticulture Consultancy, Bright Vine Services, occasionally teaches at the local TAFE, and helps out a few days a week at the Ballabourneen Cellar door, spreading the word about great wine! A hectic working life is balanced with a wonderful daughter, fabulous friends and family, a very social hockey team (all the afore-mentioned share a deep and abiding passion for good food to go with the great wine), 2 beautiful Border Collies, and a very spoilt thoroughbred called Rupert!
